The Hebrew alphabet, as you all know by now, has 22 letters. Two of the letters are always silent and one only some of the time, while four letters have two sounds!

In the modern-day pronunciation of Hebrew, there are no parallels to the English language ‘TH’ sounds as in ‘THE’ or ‘THOUGHT,’ there is no ‘G’ sound as in ‘GIRAFFE’ or ‘J’ sound as in ‘Jet’ sound, and there is no ‘W’ as in ‘WHAT’ or ‘WHEN.’

Today, let’s concentrate on the sounds of the Hebrew letters.

Now get ready!
The Hebrew alphabet march is about to commence.
In the next installment in the series, the story of the Hebrew alphabets will begin with the first letter, the letter ALEPH!
